Turbowinds T400-34
By choosing the Turbowinds T400-34 you are basing your investment on more than 25 years experience in wind energy generation.
The T400-34 has been designed specifically for locations where larger turbines simply will not fit, due to planning or site accessibility, and where the producer wants a high annual energy yield. It fits in the same planning envelope as most lower yielding medium-wind turbines and can generate more electricity due to its large blade swept area.
The T400-34 400kW wind turbine will meet the requirements of the UK feed-in tariff regulated by OFGEM and the feed-in tariff in Ireland regulated by CER.
It sits in the sub-500 kW band which provides a payment of 22.8 pence per kWh in the UK (Generation + Export tariff). This payment is index-linked for a period of 20 years.
In Ireland, the T400-34 can be connected to the low-voltage grid. As its size sits outside the Gate process, once planning permission is received, the turbine can be erected without potentially lengthy delays in securing a Gate agreement.
Benefits
Proven design and reliability: The T400-34 has a 15-year history of reliable operation.
High yield: Reliable operation in a wide range of wind speeds from 3 m/s to 25 m/s and a large swept area of over 900 m2 mean a substantial energy output year-on-year.
Greater site suitability: Three tower variants with blade tip heights of 45, 51 or 67 metres offer flexibility depending on planning constraints.
Easier access to remote sites: The design and size of the turbine components enables ease of transportation, as well as access to more challenging locations.
Long life: Slow blade rotation at 33 rpm results in lower vibration and contributes to high operational availability and reliability over the lifetime of the wind turbine.
Plug & play: All cables, control boxes and connectors are designed and tested as final assemblies ensuring reliable and speedy start-up. Our turbine electrical design facilitates a simple, plug and play connection to a three-phase supply.
